All about Android 12 – Changes and Improvements

The Android 12 is the new update after Android 11 for the Android operating system that is likely to release in the month of September or October 2021 or so. The Android 12 beta versions are already here and they have hinted at quite a few changes. Google has claimed the Android 12 update to be one of the major design changes in the history of Android.

The Android 12 will be available for download in the latest models of Android phones including Oppo, Asus, Nokia, iQOO, Xiaomi, and OnePlus among others. The Google Pixel phones will obviously come with the Android 12 especially the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro. It is likely that all Pixel phones might be compatible with the new Android 12.

Let us look at some of the features that will come with Android 12.

Android 12 features

Android 12 will be prioritizing privacy and security for the most part. The engine enabling Android 12’s privacy features is the Android Private Compute Core. This will allow users to be aware of all the apps that are using the user’s private information such as camera or photos, location, contacts, among other data. The Android 12 will also come with an upgraded and improved User Interface or UI. The most significant one which is worth mentioning is Material You which is a new Material Design language for Android 12 as per Google.

  • Quick Tap – This new feature quick tap makes a whole lot possible and easier. The users can now simple tap at the back of their phones for a screenshot, notifications, etc. The user can customize it accordingly as per their priorities be it controlling or opening an app or other such media.
  • Fast and efficient – Android 12 will be faster by reducing the CPU time needed for core systems.
  • Improved battery life – The android 12 will bring a better battery life as Google claims the reduction of big cores by the system server up to 15 percent.
  • Car Key – This feature will be more efficient in supporting those who have a smart car and have connected it with their smartphones. The car key feature allows the users to control their car with their phones. With this feature, it is possible to lock, unlock and even start the engine of the car from the phone. Not just that, the car will automatically unlock once the owner of the car walks up to his/her without even having to take out their phones. This is made possible with the UWB or the Ultra-Wideband technology.
  • Remote control – The Android 12 can now also serve as a remote control for all those users who have smart TV running on Android or even a Chromecast. There will be a built-in remote from which the users will be able to browse their favorite shows on their phones.
  • Games – Android 12 will allow its users to start playing a game that is currently downloading even before the game has completely finished downloading and installing.
