Xiaomi reportedly working on smartphone with mammoth 200MP primary camera

Xiaomi could soon unveil a smartphone that features Samsung's 200MP ISOCELL sensor.

Xiaomi is reportedly working on a phone that will come with a humongous 200MP primary sensor. This news comes just a few days after the Chinese smartphone giant released the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro with a 108MP Samsung HM2 primary sensor in India. Tipsters have pointed that Samsung is working to introduce a 200MP ISOCELL sensor for smartphone cameras.

Reliable tipsters hint that a Xiaomi phone with a 200MP sensor is in the works

Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has seemingly confirmed that a smartphone with a 200MP sensor is in the works. It was reported on Twitter as well as a post on Weibo (via ITHome). Although the tipster didn’t mention Xiaomi in the tweet, the report from ITHome did. It even makes reference to a previous post from the reliable tipster Ice Universe who claimed that the new ISOCELL sensor is being developed by Samsung and will come with a 0.64-micron pixel.

This isn’t the first time that Samsung has been linked with the introduction of a 200MP camera sensor. In addition to the tweet from Ice Universe, WHYLAB, another reliable tipster claims that Samsung is reportedly working on this sensor. The tipster adds that Samsung’s alleged 200MP sensor could measure 1/1.37-inch and have 1.28-micron pixels. Moreover, it could come with support for 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 pixel binning technology for reducing the noise for enhanced images. The sensor may be capable of recording 16K videos.

Samsung Galaxy S22 could reportedly debut the 200MP sensor

Mark Peters has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S22 could come with a 200MP sensor. He even shared 3D product renders in partnership with Technizo Concept, highlighting the 200MP Olympus camera. Although there is no concrete information if this is will be the case officially, more information is expected to come out soon.
