The importance of health and fitness took a drastic turn last year when the pandemic hit and people became more aware of the significance of living a healthy lifestyle.
The usage of fitness trackers, fitness watches, and fitness bands increased and the market of smart wearables saw sales it had never seen before. These fitness gadgets track your health status, collect data, and display them via apps to help you understand where your fitness standards lie.
However, after the era of fitness trackers, fitness watches, and fitness bands, Vivo could usher in a new, innovative technology with the launch of the Vivo Ring.
Vivo has already applied for the patent and unless anything unexpected happens, Vivo Rings will be hitting the markets soon.
Vivo Ring to monitor health and fitness through sensors
Recently, VIVO published a patent with the publication number CN112595402A for “weight detection method, device and finger ring”. This patent is about a weight detection method belonging to the technical field of wearable devices. This method is for a finger ring with an inner wall carrying a pressure sensor and an outer wall.
You can wear the ring on any finger (index, middle, ring, or thumb) and it will be able to identify the wearer. When you use it for the first time, you’ll be able to enter your personal information such as your age, gender, height, weight, which finger you’re wearing it on, etc.
The built-in motion sensor in the ring will detect the pressure by the ring and obtain the corresponding relationship between pressure and weight among other things. Moreover, it’ll also use a specific algorithm for monitoring the user’s change in weight in real-time. This will allow you to focus on your health and if you’re going in the wrong direction and you need to make changes to your diet.
