Redmi might be launching a gaming-specific phone soon and it could be as early as this month. Xiaomi had been focusing on the budget segment for quite some time with its Redmi branding but this branding could soon be getting a gaming phone under its bracket.
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi had been teasing a gaming phone for a while and now the company has finally confirmed that Redmi’s first gaming phone will be released by the end of this month. Although Redmi didn’t exactly reveal any specifications, though the company did announce its partnership with Call of Duty Mobile for the phone’s upcoming launch.
Redmi gaming phone rumored specifications and features
Leaks in the past have revealed some information about the upcoming Redmi phone including the phone having the model number M2104K10C. It has also been revealed that the device will be launched later this month.
Although the exact name of the device isn’t known yet, it has already cleared China’s 3C certification and TENAA certification. According to these listings, the upcoming gaming phone comes with the codename “Ares” and features a dimensity 1200 SoC, a quad-camera setup at the back, housing a Sony IMX686 64MP primary lens. Moreover, it is expected to feature a 90Hz LCD display and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.
The upcoming Redmi gaming phone will be launching in India as well. It has already been spotted on the IMEI database. However, there are chances it could be launched under the “Poco” branding. Poco, Xiaomi’s spin-off company, has been focusing on performance-driven handsets recently, especially in India. Most Poco phones in recent times are targeted towards gaming enthusiasts in the mid-range segment. Moreover, the Poco X3 Pro is currently the most affordable handset with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series SoC.
