Realme has confirmed the official launch date for the upcoming Realme 8 5G in India, revealing that the Realme 8 5G and Realme 8 Pro 5G will be officially unveiled on April 21. While there have been a lot of leaks and rumors circling around these smartphones, the standard variant has been spotted on the Google Play Console listing ahead of the official launch. This appearance has revealed a lot of details surrounding the design, specifications, and features.

Realme 8 5G specs leak via Google Play Console appearance

The specifications and features and of the upcoming 5G phone were leaked after the device was spotted on Google Play Console. The database had the Realme device listed with the RE513C1 model number. Popular tipster Mukul Sharma confirmed the legitimacy of this appearance, including the SoC, RAM, OS version, and more.

Realme 8 5G expected specifications and features

The upcoming Realme phone is expected to come with an FHD+ display with a 420 DPI pixel density, a 1,080×2,400p screen resolution, and a punch-hole cutout. Although the listing suggested the Realme 8 5G could come with the MediaTek MT6883 processor or the MediaTek Dimensity 800 processor, the general consensus is that the upcoming 5G phone will actually feature the Dimensity 700 SoC (as revealed by Geekbench listings), making it the first phone to be launched with that processor in India. It would be smart to wait for the official teaser for confirmation on the processor. Moreover, the Google Play Console listing also revealed that it will come with 8GB of RAM and run on Android 11 OS out of the box.

Although the listing didn’t reveal any info on the battery capacity, the upcoming 5G phone had already appeared on FCC and BIS certification sites before, suggesting that it is expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging support.

Moreover, there are rumors that the Realme 8 5G could even be released as the rebranded Realme V15, though there is no authentic teaser or leak to support these rumors. With the official launch date inching closer, more information from official sources is expected to come out soon.
