Vivo has released an official teaser for the upcoming Vivo S9 5G that is set to be launched on March 3rd. The design of the smartphone has already been revealed through official renders last week and the latest promo teases the handset while also confirming some of the key features.
The short teaser confirmed that the upcoming 5G smartphone will come with a wider notch on the display, similar to the predecessor Vivo S7 5G. The notch will house a dual selfie camera setup, which includes a 44MP lens as the primary selfie camera.

The teaser revealed that the rear of the Vivo S9 5G will feature a rectangle-shaped module that will house a triple camera setup. Moreover, the device is expected to feature a 64MP primary camera.
The Vivo S9 5G was recently spotted on Geekbench with a Dimensity 1100 chipset and 12GB of RAM. It managed to score 860 points on the single-core test while for the multi-core test it scored 3532 points. The teaser confirmed that the Vivo S9 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset and come with UFS 3.1 storage.
Previous leaks have revealed that the S9 5G is likely to sport an AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and pack a 4,100mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
Vivo S9 series pre-booking starts ahead of the official launch
The Vivo S9 series has already started taking pre-bookings through the company’s official website in China. The dedicated webpage includes a few renders showing the design of the Vivo S9 smartphone. Separately, Vivo has also confirmed on Weibo that the series will include the Vivo S9e, which is expected to be a watered-down version of the vanilla S9.
The pre-booking webpage on Vivo’s website gave a clear look at the rear of the Vivo S9. The smartphone appears to come with flat edges, which is similar to the iPhone 12. Moreover, it is seen sporting triple rear cameras in a rectangular-shaped module, which looks similar to the ones on the Vivo X60.
