Redmi India teases Redmi Max TV XL launch in India during Note 10 series presentation

Redmi India officially teased the launch of Redmi Max TV XL at the Redmi Note 10 series launch event on March 4. Interestingly, this falls in line with recent reports that Redmi-branded TVs could be leading to India in March.

The teaser shown during the event read “The XL Experience” is common soon, which suggests that Redmi could be launching the new Redmi Max TV XL in India soon. The TV is already on sale in China and if the rumors are true, the Max TV could be priced aggressively to compete with other big names. The Redmi Max TV XL could come with a similar display size as the Chinese Max TV, which features an 86-inch screen.

Redmi Max TV XL – An 86-inch or 98-inch smart TV?

Smart TVs with 65-inch or bigger displays aren’t mainstream in India, but this could change with the launch of Redmi TV XL. Redmi recently teased the launch of an XL smart TV at the end of the Redmi Note 10 series presentation with the tagline reading “The XL Experience”.

Redmi has previously launched both 86-inch and 98-inch TVs in China and the company could do the same in India under the Redmi Max TV XL moniker or just Redmi TV XL. However, Redmi could also choose the retain the name Redmi Max TV and feature similar specifications.

Redmi products are usually priced lower than the Mi products, and the same is expected for the upcoming Redmi Max TV XL series. However, if it turns out to be true, the Redmi Max TV XL will still be the most expensive smart TV from the company in India because it’ll be the first of its kind to launch in the Indian smart TV market. Comparing the price to the features the Redmi Max TV (Chinese variant) came with, the upcoming Redmi TV will be well worth the price.

Redmi Max TV specifications and price

The Redmi Max TV was officially launched in China a few days back and the TV featured an 86-inch LCD display with 4K resolution, a 92% DCI-P3 color spectrum, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The TV runs on MIUI for TV and supports XiaoAI voice assistant. Moreover, there is also support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, and more.

The TV will be powered by a quad-core processor, which will be complemented by Mali-G52 MCI GPU, as well as 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. For audio, there are two built-in speakers with 12.5W output.

The 86-inch Redmi Max TV was priced at RMB 7,999 in China (approx. ₹90,000). The TV is expected to launch at a similar price in India. Moreover, the company could also launch a smaller TV to compete with other price segments as well.
