Asus ROG Phone 5 is set to launch on March 10 as the Taiwan-based smartphone company is planning to unveil its flagship gaming phone in several markets, including India. Ahead of the official launch, the upcoming gaming phone has been spotted on Geekbench, with the listing revealing that it’ll come with a massive 18GB of RAM.
The ROG Phone 5 is expected to come with the flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC and with its amazing specifications and whopping RAM capacity, the gaming phone is set to put not just other gaming smartphone competition, but many gaming laptops to shame.
Asus ROG Phone 5 scores impressive on Geekbench listing
The Asus ROG Phone 5 was spotted on Geekbench ahead of the official launch with the gaming phone listed with the model number ASUS_I005DB. The listing showed that the upcoming gaming smartphone scored an impressive 1,113 points in the single-core test while for the multi-core test it scored 3,468. The device will run on Android 11 out of the box and come with 18GB of RAM.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the phone has been spotted on Geekbench. It was previously spotted on certification sites with the model number ASUS_I005DA and featured 16GB of RAM. It is likely that the upcoming ROG Phone 5 will come in two different variants with two different RAM capacities.
Asus ROG phone 5 expected specifications and launch date
While Asus is keeping close tabs on the upcoming gaming phone’s specifications, there have been multiple leaks that have revealed a few key specs.
The ROG Phone 5 is expected to feature a 6.78-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR+ support. The phone will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC and come in two RAM variants, 16GB and 18GB. For the camera department, it’ll come with a 64MP triple rear camera setup. Meanwhile, the gaming phone will pack a 6,000mAh dual-cell battery with 65W fast charging support.
Asus has announced that its upcoming gaming phone will officially launch globally on March 10 at 7:00 PM local time (4:30 PM IST) in Taipei, Taiwan. Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com has already created a teaser page where the smartphone has been put up for pre-order, though it doesn’t share any information on the specs and details on the phone.
