Samsung, LG to launch new devices with pet care technologies soon

  • LG added that the washing machine is 24kg and has the ability to perfectly remove pet-related stains and odours in people’s clothes
  • With the help of Samsung’s SmartThings Pet, consumers have the option of looking at their beloved pets far away from home with the help of the company’s IoT platform

The South Korean global electronics manufacturers LG and Samsung have announced to launch unique electronic products that will have pet care features for the first time backed by cutting-edge technology. It is claimed by many of the industry people who wish to be unnamed.

The companies are trying to meet the demand of growing consumers who live with four-legged companions. The electronic companies feel that they are making products purely for humans but nothing is being done for the pets or animals who also need technological care as the number of pets are increasing in most households across the globe.

Last week, LG introduced the all-new dryer and washer, furnished with steam functions that wipes out allergens. According to the company, using pet care cycles on their new clothing care appliances will kill dog allergen or cat allergen by 99.99 percent in clothes. It added that the washing machine is 24kg and has the ability to perfectly remove pet-related stains and odours in people’s clothes. While the new 17kg dryer is now upgraded with pet hair removal feature. The new washing machine is priced at $1,645.

Last month at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2021), Samsung has unveiled JetBot 90 AI+ vacuum-cleaner with AI technology, and also SmartThings Pet, which is an animal care service, where consumers have the option of looking at their beloved pets far away from home with the help of the company’s IoT platform.

According to Yonhap news agency, Samsung is intending to launch JetBot 90 AI+ vacuum cleaner and pet care service in the United States and South Korea during the first quarter of 2021. Then, there is a possibility it could launch in other countries as well. 

Apart from this, Samsung has also announced that Galaxy SmartTag can be used to locate pets wherever they are. Basically, it’s a tracking tag that has Bluetooth Low Energy technology. When this is attached to the pet’s neck, people can find them without any hassle.
