Xiaomi has come out of the blocks quickly this season as the Chinese giant has already launched a number of exciting smartphones in 2021 already. Recent reports suggest that the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 could be set to release shortly.
While there isn’t a lot of concrete information on the upcoming smart band and its features, there seems to be a lot of leaks surfacing online, hinting that the device could be close to an official launch. Leaks on platforms like LOGGER and Geekdoing have released a number of key details on the upcoming smart band.
Xiaomi Mi Band 6 codenamed ‘Pangu’
A Geekdoing forum user named ‘MagicalUnicorn’ shared a couple of details about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Band 6. He claims that the upcoming band will be codenamed ‘Pangu’.
Moreover, the could be two variants of the band (with model no. XMSH16HM) that have appeared on the internet so far – the first variant comes with NFC support while the other variant comes without NFC support.
Moreover, the user also discovered that the Mi Band 6 could arrive with up to 30 activity modes, which is significantly more than the 11 modes found on the Mi Band 5.
Key Mi Band 6 details leak on Zepp App
According to LOGGER, key details on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Band 6 were leaked on the Zepp App code (a Huami-owned smart band app). In the firmware code of this app, the source code formed the words ‘Mi Band 6’.
There was a CMIIT ID registration number that had passed the China Radio Certification. Moreover, the code also shows that the band would inherit the previous generation products to offer NFC support.
The report also revealed that the band is likely to come with an in-built Alexa voice assistant as well as a SpO2 sensor to measure blood oxygen levels. The code also hinted that the smart band could seemingly have a larger display as compared to that of the Mi Band 5’s 1.1-inch display. This is because the leaked watch faces of the upcoming band have a higher resolution.
There isn’t a lot of official information available for the Mi Band 6 yet. However, considering the smart band appears to be in its latter stages of development, more information is expected to surface online soon.
