Last year, Sony released the Xperia 10 II, which proved to be a solid mid-range phone with decent specifications and an affordable price. Now, they are looking to follow up with the Sony Xperia 10 III, which is set to follow the same path.
Recently, new renders of the Sony Xperia 10 III were leaked by Steve Hemmerstoffer, revealing the design and a few other details for the device. The report hinted that the Xperia 10 III will be mostly unchanged from the predecessor, which isn’t such a bad thing. Even though slightly unremarkable, the design is relatively clean and if you were looking for drastic changes, you might have to wait until its successor.
Hemmerstoffer leaks CAD renders for the Sony Xperia 10 III
According to Steve Hemmerstoffer of the Voice, the Sony Xperia 10 III could feature a 6.0-inch flat display without a notch or teardrop design. This could mean the bezels will be relatively larger than what most mid-range and high-end smartphones have today. Overall, the device is likely to measure 154.4 x 68.4 x 8.3mm (9.1mm at the camera bump). This makes it a compact device for this day and age. Moreover, the device is marginally narrower and shorter than the predecessor but also 0.1mm thicker.
The CAD renders also hint at the device sporting a triple camera setup at the rear, housing a 12MP primary camera, an 8MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. It could have dual front-firing speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack. Moreover, the fingerprint sensor is expected to be embedded in the power button located on the side.
Other leaks have revealed that the handset could be powered by the Snapdragon 690 5G SoC, which is an improvement from the predecessor that featured a 6-series SoC – the 665.
There is no release date or price mentioned in the leak but Hemmerstoffer claims that Sony will likely reveal these details in just a few weeks. If that is true, it won’t be long before Sony gives an official confirmation. Hopefully, the price for Sony Xperia III will stay relatively low because the market can always use another affordable device.
