Samsung has announced the launch of its next budget smartphone – the Samsung Galaxy M02s in India. Coming with the features of a promising bestseller, Samsung’s Galaxy M02 will offer a triple camera and a 5,000mAh battery at just under Rs. 10,000. The device, which will be launched on January 7, will be the latest entrant to Samsung’s super-popular M series. Samsung claims that the upcoming Galaxy M02s would be great for gaming, browsing, streaming, and photography. In fact, this will be the first Samsung Galaxy device to come with 4GB of RAM launched for under Rs. 10,000.
Samsung Galaxy M02s specifications and features
The Galaxy M02s features a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity V display that looks similar to a waterdrop-style notch housing a front snapper. In the teaser video, it looks like the phone will come with a textured design on the back to provide a better grip. The device features a rear camera module with a triple-camera setup. The module houses 13MP + 2MP + 2MP image sensors while in terms of the front camera, the front snapper features a 5MP image sensor.
It is also rumored that the phone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset and 4GB of RAM and pack a 5,000mAh battery. Galaxy M02s is believed to be a considerable improvement over its predecessor that had thicker bezels and chin on the front.

Samsung Galaxy M02s price and launch date
Samsung has already added a dedicated microsite of the Galaxy M02s on its Indian website, revealing that the upcoming M series addition will be launched on January 7 at 1:00 PM IST. It is expected to be priced at under Rs. 10,000 and become Samsung’s first handset to feature 4GB of RAM at this price.
Samsung will also be launching the Galaxy M12 that allegedly packs a mammoth 7,000mAh battery similar to the Galaxy M51. According to several reports, the M12 is already in mass production and could be launched in India soon. There have been previous reports stating the Galaxy M12’s appearance on the Geekbench listing. It is expected to be powered by the Exynos 850 processor, come with 3GB of RAM, and run on Android 11 OS with Samsung One UI on top.
