After several rumours and anticipation, Xiaomi has finally announced the launch of its budget smartphone, dubbed the Redmi 9 Power. This device is a successor to Redmi Note 9 4G that was launch on its home soil last month. The only difference are there on the storage option, RAM, and optical sensors. While launching the phone, Xiaomi compared it with Oppo A53, Vivo Y20, and Samsung Galaxy M11.
The phone appears in two variants; a 4GB+128GB ROM that appears at a price of Rs 11,999 and a 4GB+64GB ROM that carries a price tag of Rs 10,999. The device comes in four colour options such as Mighty Black, Electric Green, Blazing Blue, and Fiery Red. The phone’s first sale is scheduled from December 22 onwards at 12 noon and will be available in Mi Homes, Mi Studios, and Mi Stores as well as Mi.com and amazon.in.
Now, coming to the specifications, the phone sports a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display coupled with a resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels along. It also has Dot Drop display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 400 nits of brightness, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Redmi 9 Power is backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset along with Adreno 610 GPU. The product is powered by a large 6,000mAh battery that has support for 18W fast charging.
Speaking about the phone’s photography department, it flaunts a quad rear sensor with an amalgamation of a 48 MP primary camera sensor, along with an 8MP secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. The various connectivity options of the phone include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
