Xiaomi has announced officially- the upcoming Mi 11 series will be powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 800 series processor. This announcement was made by Lei Jun, the co-founder of Xiaomi at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020 event. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer also confirmed that Mi 11 will be among the first smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 888.

Lei Jun claims that Snapdragon 888 is easily one of the most powerful mobile processors to date. Moreover, Xiaomi’s latest flagship will be among the first few handsets to be powered by this next-gen processor. The Mi 11 is going to be the successor to the Xiaomi Mi 10. Moreover, the official Twitter handle of Xiaomi also teased the fans with a tweet claiming the Snapdragon 888 is the most powerful Qualcomm chipset to date and it will power the upcoming Mi 11.

Xiaomi Mi 11 expected specifications and features
While Xiaomi is yet to reveal any official information about the Mi 11 (except the chipset), there are enough rumors and leaks about the device. The latest leaks claim the Mi 11 is expected to come with a curved display. It is likely to flaunt a punch-hole design though there is no confirmation whether it’ll come with FHD+ or QHD+ resolution.
As mentioned above, the Mi 11 will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. The Snapdragon 888 is definitely a major step-up in terms of performance and user experience, especially in terms of gaming. The device is likely to be 5G capable, bringing in new AI chops and the latest gaming technologies including support for Snapdragon 3rd-gen Elite Gaming. Moreover, it is likely to run on Android 11 out-of-the-box and come with at least 6GB of RAM.
In terms of camera specs, the device is likely to feature a triple camera setup housing a 108MP primary lens. Moreover, there will be an ultra-wide lens and a third lens that’ll potentially support up to 30x zoom.
The launch date in India is currently unknown. However, Xiaomi has confirmed via Twitter that the upcoming flagship will be making its debut soon. If the rumors are true, the Mi 11 could be launched globally in January 2021, along with the Mi 11 Pro.
