OnePlus is expected to launch three new smartphones in March of next year and the OnePlus 9 Lite is likely to be one of them. It was rumored that OnePlus will be launching an affordable lite variant, expected to be OnePlus 9E, but a new leak suggests otherwise. As per a new leak, an insider has leaked that OnePlus will be launching OnePlus 9 Lite along with OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.
New leak hints at OnePlus 9 Lite release in 2021
According to a new report, OnePlus plans on launching three smartphones next year as part of its new strategy. Unlike the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro variant, the Lite model will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC.
It would be interesting to see where OnePlus goes with the chipset since it would be the first time the company has used an old SoC for a new device. Yes, the Snapdragon 865 is a relatively powerful chipset but it still represents OnePlus not adhering to its promise of ‘never settle’. All such concerns can be put to rest if OnePlus prices the device right for ensuring enough value for buyers. OnePlus 9 Lite: Rumored camera specifications
The OnePlus 9 Lite is expected to house the same camera optics present in the OnePlus 8T. 8T brings a versatile user experience when clicking photos as it features a quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. It supports both EIS and OIS, which helps the device deliver a high level of stability and improve camera shooting.
There is even an ultra-wide-angle lens capable of offering a 123-degree field of view. Moreover, there are two more lenses. The first of which is an improved 5MP macro lens, a definite upgrade on the OnePlus 8 whereas the other one appears to be a 2MP monochrome lens.
There is not a lot of information on the pricing or availability of the OnePlus 9 Lite yet. However, it is expected that the device will be launched in March 2021 but more details are expected in the coming weeks.
