Asus’s slim and fast UltraBook: Asus ZenBook Flip S

Asus's latest ultrabook, the Asus ZenBook Flip S comes with Intel's Tiger Lake Processor which is the 11th generation Processor.

The new Asus ZenBook Flip S is a high-end notebook laptop. It comes with a 4K OLED screen and impressive audio. The Asus ZenBook Flip S is one of the few ultrabooks that exhibit the full potential of the Tiger Lake CPU in a slim form factor. The Asus ZenBook Flip S is exceptionally light weighing only about 1.2 kg. The current price of the Asus ZenBook Flip S is INR 1,49,990.

Asus ZenBook Flip S – Design and Build

The Asus ZenBook Flip S is made of aluminium alloy and is a lightweight laptop. The ZenBook Flip S is a two in one high-end convertible with a Black lid that comes with Asus’s signature concentric circles. The ZenBook Flip S’s screen can be rotated to a full 360 degree. Even though it is recommended to best use it as a laptop tilting the screen at any angle it can also be converted into a tablet. The tablet can be used with touch and pen support as the Asus stylus comes in the box itself. Besides these, the laptop is very slim the reason why it is so lightweight.

Asus ZenBook Flip S – Ports and Authentication

The ZenBook Flip S on its right side has the power button along with a single USB-A port while on the left side it has an HDMI connection, two USB-C ports with the support for Thunderbolt 4. A USB-C dongle with a 3.5mm port comes in the box as well. The web camera of 720p is an average one and comes with Windows Hello facial recognition which does not require the user to type a password.

Asus ZenBook Flip S – Display and Audio

The Asus ZenBook Flip S is a 13.3-inch 4K OLED screen with touch ability. The OLED screen cannot stretch from edge-to-edge. The 4K OLED screen provides impressive colors and picture quality with the darkest of Blacks. The OLED screen also comes with impressive sound with good speakers. Although they are not as loud as the 16-inch MacBook Pro, they provide good sound quality which is clear and does not distort at high volumes.

Asus ZenBook Flip S – Performance

The highlight of the Asus ZenBook Flip S is that it comes with the latest Intel Tiger Lake Processor which comes with a quad-core Core i7-1165G7 with Xe integrated graphics. The RAM is 16 GB and the SSD is 1TB. There is not much difference between the 10th generation processors and the 11th generation processors. The Flip S can be used to perform multiple tasks simultaneously like editing images, playing music on Apple Music, streaming shows and networks, and many more. The Asus ZenBook Flip S is a powerful laptop however, it cannot run professional programs and AAA-titles like Forza Horizon 4.

Asus ZenBook Flip S – Battery Life

The battery life of the Asus ZenBook Flip S is average. Although it has fast charging qualities and takes 60 minutes or an hour to fully charge, it can also run out of battery after four to five hours. However, to make it last longer the user can manipulate the resolution to increase the battery life. The battery life of the ZenBook Flip S will go down if the resolution is high.

Apart from these features, the Asus ZenBook Flip S comes with a comfortable backlit keyboard that is decently sized. The trackpad has Numberbad 2.0 which makes it very responsive. The touchpad has an icon on the top right corner which opens up a LED touch-based Numpad which works very well for the sizeable laptop.

If compared to Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro that comes with the newly launched M1 processor it cannot compete with it. However, the new Asus ZenBook Flip S comes with its own pros and cons, and anyone who wants the features that have been mentioned above can purchase the ultrabook.
