Redmi announces Redmi Note 9 5G series and Note 9 4G in China

After numerous leaks and rumours, Redmi has finally unleashed the much-awaited Redmi Note 9 series phones on its home soil. There is no news as of now when these phones will be launched in India and other countries. At its official event, the company launched the powerful Redmi Note 9 5G pro, Redmi Note 9 5G, and Redmi Note 9 4G.

Price and Availability

Coming to the prices of these models, the affordable Redmi Note 9 will be available at a price of for CNY 1,300, the Note 9 5G pro will be available at for CNY 1,600, while the 4G model will be available at CNY 1,000. According to Redmi’s official website, the phones will be available from December 1 onwards.

Redmi Note 9 5G

Compared to the premium Redmi Note 9 5G Pro, the Redmi Note 9 5G is a bit more affordable as it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor. This SoC is twice faster to its predecessor Redmi Note 8, claims the company. The display department is furnished with a 6.53-inch LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution coupled with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The optical sensor platform is backed by a triple rear sensor; a 48MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The selfie sensor has 13MP lens. Redmi Note 9 is powered by 5,000mAh battery along with 18W fast charging option.

Redmi Note 9 5G Pro

This premium phone sports a 6.67-inch display coupled with a 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Same as the Mi 10T, the display of the phone has the ability to support an adaptive refresh rate, which further provides six different refresh rate steps and thus can switch between 30Hz to 120Hz. Both the rear and front of the device are furnished with Gorilla Glass 5.

The phone appears in three variants; a 6GB RAM+128GB ROM, an 8GB RAM+128GB ROM, and there is another variant that offers higher storage of 256GB with the same amount of RAM. The phone is backed by the powerful Snapdragon 750G processor coupled with a 5G X52 modem. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by a 4,820 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charger that can offer full charge in just 58 minutes.

Coming to the camera department, the phone flaunts quad-camera setup on the rear end and is backed by a 108-megapixel ISOCELL HM2 sensor. The other sensors comprise of an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2-camera macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The selfie camera sports a 16MP sensor.

Redmi Note 9 4G

It is the most affordable phone in the list and hence, it is powered by Snapdragon 662 SoC coupled with 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The rear camera has three sensors; a 48MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera has an 8MP sensor inside a notch.

The display of the phone flaunts 6.53-inch LCD screen coupled with support for FullHD+ resolution and a 120Hz touch sampling rate (refresh rate is 60Hz). This device is powered by a large 6,000mAh battery and also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers.
