OnePlus announces Fast Charging Stations at Major Indian Airports

OnePlus has announced that it is installing charging stations with Warp Charge 30 fast charging support at Indian airports.

OnePlus brings a special feature for all its travellers in India, travelling on a low battery. OnePlus in its forum blog announced the installation of Charging Stations at Indian Airports. This comes along a new feature – Nearby Charging Stations, that lets the OnePlus phone users notified every time they are near a charging station at an airport.

“The best part – we support WARP Charge 30 fast charging built-in through the USB ports. It’s compatible with all OnePlus devices, just remember to keep the Red Cables handy!” reads the blog

“This convenient new service on your phone will notify you of the nearby OnePlus charging stations at the airport. Not just that, you can also track the station and the distance to the closest ones. With the help of beacons integrated into the charging stations, your OnePlus device identifies charging stations nearby. You can mute them anytime if you’re stuck in the long halts at the airports”, the blog further read.

How does it work?

These charging stations are equipped with integrated beacons that OnePlus devices can identify and notify users about the nearby charging stations, with a notification that will pop on the user’s phone. This notification will allow the user to direct them to the nearest charging station’s location

When the user selects the “Track Now” button, it will be directed to open up the Charging Stations settings on the device that will provide more information about the location and distance of the charging station. The settings page will also allow the users to mute notifications for 6 hours.

The new fast-charging station feature that works on OxygenOS, lets the user track the charging station and many more other details like the distance to the closest charging station, etc.

As of now, the charging station has been installed in Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru and would be be installed in Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi soon.

These charging stations will come along with traditional three-pin plug points, for the usual way of charging. The features are being rolled out for OnePlus Nord Series, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 7 and soon for the OnePlus 6 series as well.
