Qualcomm is said to have working with several Indian partners and globally to perkup technology inventions in 5G
Of late, a senior Qualcomm spokesperson said to Indian media that the country is now one of the largest markets in the world and hence, it needs to plan and setup for enhanced 5G uptake. To boost the growth of telecommunications, policy makers and government of India must release the spectrum including 5G in sufficient quantity and at a very affordable price.
Rajen Vagadia, VP and President, Qualcomm India and SAARC, said exclusively to PTI that 5G would positively impact India’s telecom market, the second largest in the world and “still growing”, as increased data consumption and heightened adoption of technology due to the pandemic has prepared the market for the advent of next-generation technology.
He added, “The case for the immediate rollout of 5G networks in India is a compelling one. It is no longer a choice, but a pre-requisite for the country’s growth and development.”
According to Qualcomm, India has huge potential for embracing new technology an being the world’s second-largest telecom market, it ensures immense promise for its growth.
Vagadia further added, “The government and policymakers can trigger the growth of the Indian telecom market by releasing spectrum, including 5G, in adequate quantity and at affordable prices.”
A month back, Reliance Jio and Qualcomm already proclaimed that they have tested 5G solutions successfully and discovered a speed of 1gbps during the trial. Even, a couple of months back, Reliance said to media Qualcomm will invest Rs 730 crore to hold 0.15% stake in Jio platforms.
